Patreon Tier Suggestion!

Hey, everyone! We need your help! We want to create a Patreon page as an another way to grow our business and continue to be inspirations to the community. We are having a hard time thinking of what the tiers should be. No one knows what they want better than the Patreons themselves! We are open to suggestions for what we should offer at different tiers. Also, let us know how much those tiers should be. If you don’t want to comment on this post, you can DM us. Thank you in advance for your advice. Without you guys, we won’t have grown so much already. Thank you for your support!

Post for Patreon goals coming soon.

Fitbit Track Day 1

img_5981

Hello, Everyone! Instead of posting the stats at the end of the night, I’ve decided to do it the next day. It’s not going to be around the same time because I work during the week. I will be posting during the evenings.

Yesterday was quite busy at work because one of the graphic designers are work was on vacation and was out during the week and the printer went wasn’t there yesterday because he was visiting his mom in Mexico. So guess who everyone turned to lol. I was literally walking from desk to desk while people were calling my name for a question or a task.

So far, though, I’ve gone above 4k on steps. It’s not hard. Once I walk in and start my day with talking to people over the counter, answering phone calls and checking emails while doing my own graphic design jobs, I’m surprised at how many steps I can accomplish. But if I only rely on my job to help me keep up with my steps and calories burning goal, I will never reach my 8k goal. So I have to go to the gym after work. I’m not complaining! I love working out.

I’ve joined this workout called Lean body. It’s a 12-week program that gives you a series of exercises to do. They have an app that you can use instead of using the website. I use this when I want to do some strength training. On the days I do, I just walk on the elliptical or treadmill. If I add the Stair stepper, I will have to do that first but everyone knows how that machine can wear you out.

It’s two weeks from Holiday Matsuri and we are feeling the pressure. Star is creating cosplay and I’m trying to get a good amount done on my perler art. It’s so much fun but it is time-consuming. You have to set time out for it and right now instead of doing that, I’m stuck doing something I shouldn’t be doing. Nothing bad. I’m just doing something else other than creating some products but oh well. I will have to stay up late tonight to make up for lost time.

That’s Fitbit Track Day 1! Let me know what you think. I know there’s not much to go on but anyone comment or suggestion would help. I want my blog to have a lot of activity like it use to. If you guys would like to follow us on social media, I’m mostly on Instagram. Look up Fitness To Cosplay and you’ll find us. Please like, comment and subscribe. I’ll see you guys tomorrow!

DO IT FOR COSPLAY!

Sorry for the low activity

Hello, everyone! Maybe many of you have notice that I haven’t been posting as much as I use to. That’s because the workload at work and my freelance have increased. It’s a good thing but it takes up time for being social on Instagram and everything else. Once I catch up on my workload, I’ll have time to post a lot again. Thank you guys for being so patient. I really appreciate it.

Moving

We will be moving at the end of July to a better location. It will be closer to work and a large house thanks to a friend of ours. We can’t wait because we will be able to do so much more like exercise at home and videos for our Youtube channel. Not only that, Onyx will have a backyard to play around instead of being cramped in our small apartment. I will be recording a tour of our new place once we move and everything is settled. What’s going to be funny is Knives crawling around the house because he does that when he gets in a new place. He literally hugs walls lol. So many opportunities will open with this move and I can’t wait!

More Shirt Designs coming soon

I’ve been thinking of more shirt designs to add to the store. Some will be inspirational, anime and Japanese inspired. We’re also thinking of other various types of clothing to print on. If there’s a specific type of shirt you like to wear, let me know. With the expansion of the sweatshirts last year, we saw sells almost immediately. It also helped that it was fall and winter lol. I would love to do every piece of clothing under the sun.

New blog layout and website

Hello everyone. It’s been a while since I last posted. We’ve been really busy since our announcement of attending SuperCon, the largest convention in south Florida, I think. What have we been up to? Getting stock to sell, whether we are hand-making them or buying them for resale.

SuperCon is 3 weeks away and we are in a time crunch to make sure we have enough. We are planning the layout of the booth and coming up with a strategy to be able to vlog while we are there.  I’m meeting so many friends and I want to the time to say hi to everyone. Normally the vendor’s hall is so full that people are packed and moving inch by inch. Good for us, bad for vlogging and meetups

What will our cosplay be? I’m hoping to cosplay Raven and Star wants to be Starfire or Beast Boy. Its 4 days so we should have another cosplay but we can’t decide.

Since we are going to such a huge event, I wanted to change our website a little and make it mobile friendly. Unfortunately the way that the website is now, it is not mobile friendly. I changed the website layout as well because I wanted a more simple design since this will be the blog for the company.

I was trying to give it that website feel before because we didn’t have a website. Now I can just post updates and other things I would like to share. I’m planning on blogging 3 days a week. I hope I can keep up.

If anyone has any blogging ideas, let me know in the comments. We tried to vlog in the beginning but our life is so uneventful at the moment that it won’t make since. So anytime we attend a con, I will make sure to record our experience and upload that to share with everyone. Like before, any vlogging ideas, I’m open to suggestions.

The OmniExpo Experience from a Vendors Point of View

ScreenHunter_237 Feb. 29 15.11

After vending at our first convention at Holiday Matsuri in December and having a wonderful time along with some financial success, we anxiously awaited OmniExpo. According to their website they were “your spring destination in Orlando, Florida for Sci-Fi, Comics, Anime, Fantasy, Gaming and Pop Culture.”

This is our second event and we planned to expand our product lines and improve our layout. We wanted to build more connections with other vendors and the convention attendees. In some ways we accomplished exactly what we wanted to happen. Just as with HolMat we weren’t completely prepared and wasn’t able to bring as much as we originally intended, but we were ready when those doors opened.

Unfortunately we weren’t able to cosplay this time around as every bit of spare time and energy went into product creation, but our cosplans expanded and with plenty of time left until the next show, it will happen!

We were aware that this convention was small, but so was HolMat, so we were still very optimistic. As we went into the vendor’s room, the first thing we same was an adorable Jurassic Park set up complete with a large Jurassic Park entrance door, faux flaming torches, electrified gates and dinosaurs of course. The Jurassic Park theme even played in the background. Across from that set was Lilith – the impala from supernatural – complete with demon fighting gear in the trunk. To the back wall, the DeLorean with butterfly doors, blue LED lights and the license plate OttaTime!

Along the walls near one of the entrances were the tables were the special guests were set to take autographs and pictures with fans. This area didn’t see very much traffic all weekend, but that could be said about most parts of the convention. It wasn’t as if the guest list wasn’t good enough, there simply weren’t enough people in attendance; therefore, not enough fans.

A separate room across the hall contained the Artist Alley which was small, but had great variety of handmade goods from local artists. There was also a Butler and Maid café open all day for patrons to sit and enjoy being served cute imported snack by a costumed waitstaff. It was kept unfortunately very dark and never became busy.

There were no glossy printed magazine booklets for this convention. Instead a single black and white sheet of paper with a statement in the corner saying they’ve gone green! After we finished our mean childlike snickering about how they’ve gone cheap, in all honesty we loved the idea, but not the execution. The paper held the schedule and it really must have taken a genius to cram that much information on a single sheet of paper, but the print was so small, 20/20 vision was a requirement. The OmniExpo website also held the schedule, but the website wasn’t entirely mobile friendly and the events were separated by room and not dates, which would have been much easier to look at while fumbling around on your phone. If you didn’t have a smartphone though, a very thin easily misplaced paper would have been your only friend.

There were also a lot of handwritten signs to indicate what each room was. There were not very many standing signs. No signs about Omni at the front of the hotel either. If you just happened to walk into the convention, you might have had to ask someone in order to know the name of the event. I think the Going Green concept was taken a little too far.

I must admit that I spent most of my time in the vendor’s room completely disenchanted by the event. My partner who frequently broke away from the booth in search of cosplayers, came back with a silly story or two, but for the most part mildly disappointed.

There were many beautifully dressed cosplayers with handmade costumes. This year’s theme was Renaissance and we were able to see some amazing costumes that went above and beyond, including a woman who created a gold and purple bejeweled outfit that won best in show.

Still, there was way too much room in the hallways.

VIP tickets were limited to 96 for this event, yet only 19 sold. The first hour of each day, the vendor room was open to only VIPs. Yes 19 VIPs.

“There are not enough people,” or “It’s really slow,” were common statement among the vendors and by the end of it, most vendors agreed; they wouldn’t come back if Omni was around next year.

So what happened!

Could it have been that CONjure, a very similar anime/comic con, was the very same weekend? There are plenty of rumors and speculations about why Omni seemed to fail. Or maybe it didn’t I’m jumping the gun with that statement, but from my perspective, it wasn’t a great place for vendors.

My final statement: Paying $11 a day for parking is ridiculous!

2 Days until Omni Expo!

ScreenHunter_237 Feb. 29 15.11

Wow time has gone fast. It’s 3 days before Omni Expo and we are racing to get everything finished. This will be our second convention we will be attending and we are really excited! As we are getting things ready, we are trying to figure out what food to bring. This will come later in a video; How To: Plan Your Meals For A Con.

We handmade more products then at Holiday Matsuri so seeing people’s reactions to them will be exciting. We have more bentos to sell since we were almost out at Holiday Matsuri.

Unfortunately we won’t be in cosplay. We didn’t have enough time to make them and the products. But at least we know what we want to cosplay for Florida Anime Experience in April. We will be recording the con so there will be a Con Walkthrough: Omni Expo and we will be interviewing cosplayers that will be visiting our booth and when we walk around.

Plans foiled again!

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go to the gym today because of life’s ever changing plans for our lives. Star was called into work so I was home uploading videos, binging on Youtube and going through some old clothes that we’ve held on for too long. Unfortunately the clothes were too old and worn for us to donate but we have clothes that we plan to donate.

Now I’m currently watching Netflix. Our plans for tonight are to go to Whole Foods and get dinner. Star will get cashews so she can make vegan cheese for her Alfredo pasta she wants to make tomorrow. I’m going to grab a lot of fruit and maybe some sweet potato to make some fries.
Tomorrow we have major plans because Omni Expo is getting closer and we need to plan out what we are going to do and sale. The booth will be a corner booth, so that means we will need to provide more product. This will be exciting. Good night guys.
