A Billion Vegans

For those of you that don’t know, we were vegan for a year. The reason why we aren’t vegan anymore is personal. But we still utilize some of the things we learned while being vegan in our day-to-day lives. Such as, I no longer use milk in my coffee. I would rather use soy or almond milk instead. I don’t consume much meat anymore, just a little bit. 

I found this website called A Billion Vegans and it connects you to other vegans around the world. I enjoy the way the website looks. It’s clean and organized. You can definitely make friends. People share recipes and inspirational photos. I have not come across any extremist on the website, so every post is pleasant. I thoroughly recommend you guys check it out. It‘s new at the moment and I hope it takes off.

Yay!! I can’t wait to try these! I hope they are coming out with more flavors! I don’t know if they have it in the grocery store close to my house but I hope they do. 

Don’t know when I will buy it though since it’s high in fat but you should treat yourself when you  can. I plan on trying the coffee caramel fudge! I will try it out and do a review on it. 🍨🍨🍨

First Time Eating Vegan Sushi

  

Today a friend bought Star and I veggie rolls and I thought we were going to get the ordinary veggie roll of cucumber, carrot, lettuce and what other things they put in the rolls. 

I opened the container to find mushrooms and cilantro in the sushi. That was a new experience. I thought that it was going to taste like water. Mushrooms normally have no flavor. But these mushrooms was seasoned and creamy. 

For one second, I thought they put cream cheese in it and was going to spit it out. Star checked and there was none. 😅 It was delicious and I loved it. Star will try to make it at home. 😋

Plans foiled again!

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go to the gym today because of life’s ever changing plans for our lives. Star was called into work so I was home uploading videos, binging on Youtube and going through some old clothes that we’ve held on for too long. Unfortunately the clothes were too old and worn for us to donate but we have clothes that we plan to donate.

Now I’m currently watching Netflix. Our plans for tonight are to go to Whole Foods and get dinner. Star will get cashews so she can make vegan cheese for her Alfredo pasta she wants to make tomorrow. I’m going to grab a lot of fruit and maybe some sweet potato to make some fries.
Tomorrow we have major plans because Omni Expo is getting closer and we need to plan out what we are going to do and sale. The booth will be a corner booth, so that means we will need to provide more product. This will be exciting. Good night guys.

First off, let me tell you that gummy bears are my favorite candy. I love anything gummy really. So when I saw a table set up at the gym with these presented, I bee-lined to them before starting my workout. The table was set up with samples and information. Now I wish I took a picture because the table was set up really well.

I had a flyer but it was given to someone so I pulled information from their site that really caught my attention about this company.

The next day we bought the vitamins from the EXN store right next to the gym. They didn’t have her green coffee extract. We REALLY wanted that one to help with the weight loss. If they don’t have it in this week then we’ll buy it from somewhere else.

Flavor – 7

You can taste the iron, it has iron in it which most multivitamins don’t and I appreciate that, when you start but as the days go on, you get use to it. I like the taste.

Texture – 10

The pectin doesn’t give the gummies the same firmness as the gummies with gelatin. It’s easy to chew and melts in your mouth. I think this is good for people who don’t like gummies that get stuck in your teeth.

Price – 10

it’s around the same price as any other multivitamin, pill or gummy. $25

Packaging – 10

I love the colors of the bottles. They are bright and eye-catching. The bottles have a child proof cap so they can’t open it because they think it’s candy. Unlike other companies, who fills up half the bottle, they fill the ENTIRE bottle. So much so that, when open, you can see that the vitamins at the top are squished.

Distribution – 8

Unfortunately, these are only sold in EXN Supplement, Nutritional Power Center and other supplement stores that we don’t go to. Hopefully they will expand to GNC, Vitamin Shoppe and other stores in the future.

Overall, I give this product 9/10! We will be going back to get another bottle and to see if they have the green coffee extract. We will also try the other bottles they are selling. You can’t beat vegan friendly!  I’m so happy that this product was presented to us at the gym and we’ll use it for now on.

Strength Training VS Cardio

When I first started working out, years ago. I use to love doing cardio because the feeling of your body continuously moving felt great. Now that I’m going to the gym and using BodySpace as my guide to help figuring out what exercises to do, I think I love strength training more. To me, your body does more. With cardio, you continuously do the same thing for however long you want but with strength training, you do a lot more in the same length of time. Once I was done and looked at my log, I found out that I did 9 freaking exercises, NINE! It didn’t seem that way because I was going from one exercise to another.

First, before I say anything else, I want to have a disclaimer here: I’m not a vegan, I eat meat. Right now I don’t because my body is undergoing a clean right now.

One thing about being vegan, I’m finding out, is that it’s easier this time around than 2 years ago. There are a lot more items out now that vegan. Today Star and I went to Publix and while we was walking an aisle, a miso soup package caught my eye. Now I am missing heavier foods like pasta and rice and stuff because I’ve been eating mostly fruits, veggies and bars. I enjoy what I’m eating and that’s why I’ve been vegan for over a week while that last time, I barely lasted 3 days. So anyway, I took a look at it and to my freaking surprise it  was VEGAN. Not only that one but others too. I also got a Split Pea Soup. *happy dance*

I’ve lost 3 lbs so far and I’m happy to see that number go down. I wonder how long I can take being vegan before my body craves in for meat lol. I eat meat no lie. I’m also happy that when I pass by a fast food place, the smell of the food doesn’t tempt me anymore. I smell and go yuck. That’s a sign to me that my body is on the right track and when I want to have a cheat day, it’ll be my choice and not my body.

Banana Oat (Microwave) Waffle

So I posted my banana oat waffle on Facebook and just as I promised I’m going to share with you the super duper 3 (4) ingredient RECIPE that looks sinful but its not!

HERE YOU GO!

Here are the things you will need:

Bananas
Quick Cook oats
Eggs
Cinnamon powder (optional)
Microwavable Waffle mold (I got mine from Saizen-Daiso)

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Take your bananas and slice them into a lixing bowl. I’m not giving any amount because i really didn’t count. I just kinda winged the recipe

2. MASH IT!

3. Then pour almost the same amount of oats into the  mixture. Again I just estimated this. You are going to want your mixture to be thicker than oatmeal consistency because you will still be adding some whole eggs into this

New Goal Weight

Now that I’ve reached my 10 lb goal, my new goal weight is to be under 140. I’m tethering between 146-145 but I hope to break it soon. I had a scare this morning when I weighed myself and it said 143.4. I was like AH but once I stepped on it again it said 146. That was one heck of a hiccup! I haven’t had much to time exercise but I’m going to play tennis tomorrow. I’m sorry I don’t have much to post this time but I haven’t been so busy that nothings been really going on. My regiment has been work, home for more work, and bed. Nothing much. My GF did get a job so we celebrated by going somewhere for sushi. Yes sushi, remember when I said that I was going vegan for 30 days. I quit that because of financial difficulties and time. She’s a cook and a beverage cart attendant so we knew that was going to put a wench in the veganism. Not only that but it’s coming harder and harder to find things vegan outside the house. It’s always was, that has sugar in it or something else that we can’t have. South Florida isn’t all that kind to vegan when it comes to outside food. Well I will try again later on in the future but I am pescetarian. Wish means that the only meat I will eat is Seafood. I’m even cutting back on that because there’s no need for me to eat so much of it.

My Challenge

Hello everyone. I’ve decided to challenge myself by going vegan for one month and vegetarian for 2 more months. The reason for this is that I never done if before, I would like to lose weight and it’s also because of a movie I saw. It’s called Vegucated. It’s a movie about a couple of people going vegan and finding out how the meat industry works. I’m not going to speak much about it because I didn’t want to spoil it for the ones that might see it in the future. If you do it or if you already saw it, please comment. I would like to know what you thought about the movie and what you think about the subject in general.

I’ve gone vegan for 4 days now and it’s not has hard as I thought it would be. But that could be because it’s just the beginning. Probably in the middle, I’ll be hunting down a cow myself. LOL My scale broke a week ago so I haven’t been able to check my correct weight. The very last time I checked was at Publix and it said that I was 148. It’s somewhat accurate so I’ll take it. This will be interesting that’s for sure. Wish me luck. I will update everyday on my progress because I like to share like a share bear should. LOL.
