Run Otaku Run Year Challenge – Day 2

It felt so good going back to the gym after a week. We hit the elliptical hard even though we only did it for 30 minutes. We normally go for an hour. We choose to do GREEN.

  • 50 Jumping Jacks
  • 50 Squats
  • 20 Crunches
  • 20 minutes Cardio

Doing the squats, I’ve realized that I was able to go down deeper than before. Who knows, maybe the week off was a good thing. The jumping jacks was a improvement as well but I still don’t like to do them because of my big boobs. But oh well you do what you must. We are to rest every other day so that will only be cardio days for an hour. Unless Star wants to run then I’ll would speed walk on the treadmill.

First off, let me tell you that gummy bears are my favorite candy. I love anything gummy really. So when I saw a table set up at the gym with these presented, I bee-lined to them before starting my workout. The table was set up with samples and information. Now I wish I took a picture because the table was set up really well.

I had a flyer but it was given to someone so I pulled information from their site that really caught my attention about this company.

The Gummies Co Brand was developed to help offer a healthy and convenient alternative to taking daily micro-nutrients. Our goal is to produce a complete line of nutritional products with all natural ingredients that are both effective and seriously delicious.

The Gummies Co. offers an incredibly unique category of all natural gummy vitamins, using only the highest standards in manufacturing and quality control. Made in a IQC, cGMP* & FDA regulated facility, our all natural gummies line is certified Non GMO, free of artificial colors & sweeteners, gluten free, gelatin free and citrus pectin based.

cGMP- Refers to the Current Good Manufacturing Practices: regulations enforced by the  US Food and Drug Administration-FDA. cGMP certification helps assure proper formulations, development, quality control and manufacturing control packaging and processing and its facilities.

Pectin is mainly extracted from citrus fruits, and is used in food as a gelling agent, particularly in jams and jellies and serves as a good source of dietary fiber. The Gummies Co uses plant-based, citrus pectin as an alternative to gelatin. Gelatin is currently the most widely used gelling agent in gummy candies and is made by prolonged boiling of skin, cartilage and bones from animal bi-products. Using citrus pectin ensures that our products are Halal, Kosher & Vegan approved.

Having this explained really got us interested. This product is complete VEGAN FRIENDLY. They use pectin instead of gelatin. The next day we bought the vitamins from the EXN store right next to the gym. They didn’t have her green coffee extract. We REALLY wanted that one to help with the weight loss. If they don’t have it in this week then we’ll buy it from somewhere else.

Flavor – 7

You can taste the iron, it has iron in it which most multivitamins don’t and I appreciate that, when you start but as the days go on, you get use to it. I like the taste.

Texture – 10

The pectin doesn’t give the gummies the same firmness as the gummies with gelatin. It’s easy to chew and melts in your mouth. I think this is good for people who don’t like gummies that get stuck in your teeth.

Price – 10

it’s around the same price as any other multivitamin, pill or gummy. $25

Packaging – 10

I love the colors of the bottles. They are bright and eye-catching. The bottles have a child proof cap so they can’t open it because they think it’s candy. Unlike other companies, who fills up half the bottle, they fill the ENTIRE bottle. So much so that, when open, you can see that the vitamins at the top are squished.

Distribution – 8

Unfortunately, these are only sold in EXN Supplement, Nutritional Power Center and other supplement stores that we don’t go to. Hopefully they will expand to GNC, Vitamin Shoppe and other stores in the future.

Overall, I give this product 9/10! We will be going back to get another bottle and to see if they have the green coffee extract. We will also try the other bottles they are selling. You can’t beat vegan friendly!  I’m so happy that this product was presented to us at the gym and we’ll use it for now on.

My Thoughts on the “Religious Freedom” Bill in Indiana!

I just read from CNN about the “Religious Freedom” bill and I wanted to give my thoughts about it while it’s fresh in my mind and I have to time to talk about it, since I’m at work :D. If I loose followers of this, I’m not sorry. This is how I feel. Goodbye.

In my opinion, I think Pence is trying to pass this bill into law because America has finally accepted gay marriage and this is retaliation. What gives someone the right to turn someone else away because of who they are and then call it religious freedom? First of all, look at the name. Religious Freedom. It’s their religious freedom to be who they are. Are you saying that you have more of a freedom to reject them?

So someone wants to visit Indiana for vacation and have a romantic dinner with their lover, they have to worry about what companies will give them the boot? That’s not relaxing at all. The Governor of Indiana is right; everyone in and out of Indiana should be able to live happily without worry.

I’m happy that companies are opposing this bill. I’m normally not a negative person but if the bill passes, I hope every major business pulls from Indiana because of the bias against their customers.

“The Constitution of the United States and the Indiana Constitution both provide strong recognition of the freedom of religion but today, many people of faith feel their religious liberty is under attack by government action,” Pence said.

Of Faith? Really? Being gay messes with their religious liberty? Can I please tell you that being gay is NOT A RELIGION? So how does it attack your RELIGIOUS liberty? You just hate the fact that most of America embraces gay people.

Do you know that in the Pledge of Allegiance, at the end, where it says “with liberty and justice for all”? They are trying to get liberty and justice for everyone in America and it’s a shame that there are people out there that are opposing. Are you really American? If you want to discriminate so badly, then go to another country because we don’t want that here. There I’m done.

Health Benefits of Almond Milk

I love having unsweetened vanilla almond milk with my coffee and cereal. I haven’t drunken regular milk in years. Recently I have been drinking a lot more than usual and I started thinking about the health benefits of it which I didn’t know what they were. So I’m sharing with you guys what I found out.

  • Helps with blood pressure
  • Best alternative for people who can’t have soy milk and regular milk
  • Because almonds has low to no cholesterol, it’s better for the heart. It will help prevent heart disease.
  • It helps build muscles because it has a good amount of protein and Riboflavin, a form of vitamin B.
  • There’s calcium that helps with strong and healthy bones
  • It has vitamin E that will keep your skin healthy
  • If your baby won’t drink breast milk, almond milk is a great substitute because it contains similar vitamins and minerals.

That’s so awesome right? I’m been very interested in knowing what the things I eat and drink are doing to help my body live long. If you know anything else about almond milk or even almonds for that matter, don’t be shy and share! I would love to share what you know. The more knowledge we share, the better we will be.

Weekend Blues

Get up and Try Again

So I had a bad weekend health wise but I will get back on track today. Since I don’t go anywhere on the weekend, it’s a setup for disaster. The reason why is I’m in my otaku mode and don’t leave the house. I try not to. I barely see the house during the week between meetings, working and gym. We only go home to sleep it seems. It feels good being home. Suta on the other hand, works on the weekends but not for long! Soon we will be able to be home together and get some things done! Woot!

I really want to get the ball rolling on the videos we want to do. We will soon upload v-logs to YouTube. You can follow us now so you can get notifications when we start uploading. We will post workout videos, interviews with coaches and other cosplayers, we will feature other cosplayers and etc. I can’t wait!
